About Susquehanna LGBTQ Film Festival

The 2026 Susquehanna LGBTQ Film Festival, presented by Pride Festival of Central PA, is Central Pennsylvania’s inaugural queer cinema event. Films centered upon LGBTQ experience and identity will be featured across three single-day events in June, July, and August and one three-day event in September, all in Harrisburg, the capital city of Pennsylvania and home to a thriving queer culture. Join us for an amazing cinematic event filled with courage, diversity, and love!

Paris is Burning

Paris Is Burning is a landmark documentary that offers an intimate look at New York City’s 1980s ballroom scene, where Black and Latino LGBTQ+ communities created dazzling worlds of performance, fashion, family, and self-expression. Through unforgettable interviews and vibrant ball culture footage, the film explores identity, chosen family, race, class, and the pursuit of joy in the face of exclusion.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Tenative)

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a bold, funny, and emotionally raw rock musical about Hedwig, a genderqueer East German singer chasing fame, love, and a stolen musical legacy across America. Through electrifying songs and biting humor, the film explores identity, heartbreak, reinvention, and the search for wholeness.
